The Student Transition Program is an optional, additional program that takes your Hornet Days experience a step further. You'll participate in the larger Hornet Days schedule with all incoming students, while also being part of a smaller STP cohort!

STP Participants are expected to attend all STP-specific programming and sessions during Hornet Days (August 14–19, 2026). By registering for STP, students are committing to fully participating in the program experience, including all STP sessions and activities designed for their cohort.

There are a limited number of spots available and registration is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Student Transition Program Release and Covenant Not To Sue

In consideration for receiving permission to participate in the Student Transition Program I am freely and voluntarily entering into this release and covenant not to sue. I fully recognize that there are dangers and risks to which I may be exposed to by participating in the Student Transition Program.

Examples of these risks and dangers are accidents, injuries, theft, or any other unforeseen incidents that may occur during this program. I understand that University of Lynchburg does not require me to participate in this program but I am willingly choosing to do so. I therefore agree to assume and take on all of the risks and responsibilities in any way associated with this activity.

In consideration of and return for being permitted to participate in this program and the associated activities, I HEREBY RELEASE UNIVERSITY OF LYNCHBURG, ITS TRUSTEES, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS, FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS AND ACTIONS THAT MAY ARISE FROM INJURY OR HARM TO ME, FROM MY DEATH OR FROM DAMAGE TO MY PROPERTY IN CONNECTION WITH THIS PROGRAM. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS RELEASE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE COVERS LIABILITY, CLAIMS AND ACTIONS CAUSED ENTIRELY OR IN PART BY ANY ACTS OR FAILURE TO ACT OF THE UNIVERSITY (or its trustees, employees or agents), INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, NEGLIGENCE, MISTAKE OR FAILURE TO SUPERVISE.

I recognize that this release and covenant I am giving up among other things, rights to sue University of Lynchburg for injuries, damages or losses that I may incur.
